Irene Louise (Engel) Houston, 87, Fountain Valley, Calif., died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at her home. She was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Hays to Carl and Mary (Dreher) Engel.
She married George Houston on Jan. 20, 1952, in Hays. He preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Bruce Houston; a daughter, Kathy Lindner; two brothers, Ralph and Ernie Engel, Hays; a sister, Norma Jean (Engel) Munk, Salina; and a granddaughter, Kristen Lindner.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Houston; her parents; a sister, Caroline (Engel) Goetz; and a brother, Harold Engel.
Burial took place in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Huntington Beach, Calif.
