Reuben L. Russell, 70, of Indian Bench died July 10, 1992 at the Duchesne County Hospital.
He was born June 18, 1992 in Whiterocks to Angus Dewey Russell and Ora Mae Pike Murdock. He married Lorna Mae Searle April 22, 1941 in Vernal. She died June 30, 1979. He married Lea Hartle Mitchell Jan. 14, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Reuben worked as a silversmith and he served in the Civil Service with the Indian Department. He enjoyed bowling and hunting. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army and received the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in the attack on Pearl Harbor Dec 7 1941.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Orvid and Harold, and sisters Wanda Maxine Hackford and Dorothy Jean Edgerly.
Russell is survived by his wife of Indian Bench; children: Sherry and Dennis Wilcken, Robert and Kim Russell, all of Roosevelt, and Betty and Mel Hollabaugh of Douglas, Wyoming.; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; stepchildren: Roger and Belinda Mitchell, Susan and Kent Peatross, all of Strawberry, Marsha and Bruce Peatross of Duchesne, Mark and Holly Farnsworth of Gusher; and 16 step grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 13 at 11 a.m. at the Tridell Cemetery under the direction of the Hullinger-Oplin Mortuary, Roosevelt. Military honors were provided by the Uintah and Ouray Veterans.
