Virginia Colley Porter, age 102 was called to her heavenly home on June 1, 2021. She was born in El Paso, Texas to Stanford J. and Pearl Tate Colley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Grover Porter and her brother Dr. James T. Colley. Virginia graduated from Meadow View High School in 1938 and Emory and Henry College in 1942. She spent most of her working career in Washington DC. Being employed by the Department of Navy and retired in Roanoke, Virginia. She was a member of South View United Methodist Church, for over 30 years and a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. She belonged to the N.A.R.F.E., the National Chapter for retired government employees. She is survived by her son, Michael and wife Starla Porter, two grandchildren, Brandon and Megan, and great-grandson Brayden. The family would like to thank the Carilion Hospice Team for their love and support of Virginia, throughout her care.

Graveside services will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 4, 2021, with Chaplain, Seth McCormick presiding.
