GANT, Eugene "Red" 88 of Dayton, died April 5, 2016 in Dayton. Eugene was born in Williamsburg, KY. He was the son of Larry & Nannie (Towe) Gant. He was married to Evelyn (Sliver) Gant for 54 years until her death in 2010. He was preceded in death by his brothers Howard, William, and his sister Ruth. He is survived by his children Tony & Janie Gant (FL), Doug Gant (Dayton), Mike & Cindy Gant Sopko (Dayton) and Michael & Missy Gant (Dayton), as well as grandchildren; Tonya Howard (Mike), Tonio Gant, Melissa Carter (Chris), Alexa Reames (Davis), Stacy Lewis, Stephanie Massari (Joe), Brian Sopko, Courtney Maxel (Tom), Justin McKinniss (Amber), Jessa Gant, Micah Gant, Nick Roy, and Derek Roy and great-grandchildren; Isabelle and Samuel Carter, Roen & Cort Reames, Zoey Massari, Kylar McKinniss, and Macie & Leanna Maxel. There is also a host of friends who will sorely miss him. Red was a machinist by trade, having worked for H & H Industries and retired from GM Delco Products in 1992. He was an inventor of many things, owning 3 patents, as well as an accomplished tinkerer about the house or fixing things for his family. He had great sense of humor, especially jokes that made you groan. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice or the Wright State Anatomical Gift Department. There will be no services.
