She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Raeville, Nebraska. Esther attended School District #51 in Raeville, Nebraska, and graduated from Petersburg High School at Petersburg. After attending Hastings College, she taught school for several years in Boone County.
On May 30, 1950 Esther was united in marriage to Lawrence Joseph Petsche at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg. The couple farmed east of Petersburg until Lawrence passed away on March 20, 2002. In July of 2016 Esther moved to the Good Samaritan Estates in Albion.
Esther was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and St. John’s Altar Society. She enjoyed being on the farm and raising chickens for their eggs, along with quilting and gardening.
She is survived by: children, Jane (Steve) Faust and Robert (Deb) Petsche; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister: Delores Majerus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Esther preceaded in death by: parents; husband Lawrence; two infant children; grandson: Kyle Faust; sister: Mabel Wirges; and brothers-in-law: John Wirges and Edward Majerus.
