DAVENPORT — Marcus Allen Hampton “HAMP”, 28, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 2, at Pentecostal Church of God, 1234 Ripley St., Davenport, where his family will greet friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Apostle Elizabeth Sanders will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting his family with arrangements.

Marcus was born October 9, 1988, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Davenport, son of Erwin Hampton and Linda Mosley. He was a musician and President of Hamp Productions with six CDs produced. He was “large in life,” worked with others and believed in giving back to the community. He participated in concerts at Shenanigans’ Irish Pub, Davenport.

Survivors include his parents; his significant other, Alecia Bogan, along with daughter, My’Naesha Hampton of Davenport; sons, Marcus Allen Hampton Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Marcell Hampton and Marcquez Hampton of Davenport, Iowa; five step-daughters; three step-sons, all of Davenport; sister, LaKesha Mosley; three nieces, all of Cedar Rapids; a great niece and a great nephew; sister, LaShanda Bateman; brothers, Derrick Hampton and Erwin Hampton Jr. of Davenport; paternal grandmother, Erma Jones of Forest City, Arkansas; a host of brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and a very special aunt, Gloria Mosley of Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, maternal grandparents, a nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins, and friends.
