OKOLONA -- Bug Thomas, 60, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2017, at Shearer-Richardson Memorial Nursing Home in Okolona.

He born to Charles R. Thomas, Sr. and Colleen “Polly” Moyer Moore. He was a life-long Chickasaw Countian and member of First Baptist Church in Okolona. He served in the MS Army National Guard for 16 years and worked as a truck driver, his last employment being with Ashely Furniture Distribution.

Bug enjoyed fishing and tinkering with old cars. He was an avid Ole Miss and Green Bay Packers fan, and enjoyed watching football on television.

Services will be on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 2 PM at Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 PM to service time. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to assist the family with arrangements. A full obituary will follow.

Okolona – Mr. Clifton Neil “Bug” Thomas, 60, became an angel Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Shearer-Richardson Memorial Nursing Home. He was born in Houston, Mississippi on June 22, 1957 to Charles R. Thomas, Sr. and Colleen “Polly” Moyer Moore. He was a life-long Chickasaw Countian and member of First Baptist Church in Okolona. He served in the MS Army National Guard for 16 years and worked as a truck driver, his last employment being with Ashely Furniture Distribution.

Bug enjoyed fishing and tinkering with old cars. He was an avid Ole Miss and Green Bay Packers fan, and enjoyed watching football on television.
A memorial service honoring his life will be at 2 PM, Sunday, August 27, 2017 in the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Dr. Randy Lewman officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 PM to service time Sunday only. Private burial will be at Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona. Holland Funeral Directors is honored to assist the family at this time.
Survivors include Patsy Wise Thomas, wife of 24 years and mother of his son, Christopher Thomas who died Nov. 19, 2005; sisters, Carol Culpepper (Robert) and Cynthia “Cyndy” Moore; mother-in-law, Janette Wise and brothers-in-law, Robert Wise and Donnie Alford; special niece, Charlotte Wooten and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Christopher, his parents, brother, Charles “Butch” Thomas, Jr., sisters, Cheryl Davis and Chandra Alford; father-in-law, Louie Wise; brother-in-law, Roger Moore, and sister-in-law, Wanda Wise Sykes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nabors Moore, Andrew Earnest, John Robert Harmon, Robert Wise, Joe Shoemaker, and Donnie Wayne Alford.
