Mr. Garrett died Monday, March 5, 2007, at the veteran's hospital in Shreveport, La. He was born December 16, 1926, in Long Beach, Calif., to Aaron Albert Garrett Sr. and Grace Cogdell Garrett. He had been a resident of Longview since 1970. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and Korea. He attended Alpine Church of Christ and was a member of the Professional Golf Association. He also enjoyed fishing.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Al Garrett III of Dallas, Joe Garrett of Longview and David Garrett of Los Angeles, Calif.; and grandchildren, Aaron Garrett IV, Alicia Garrett and Anna Garrett, all of Dallas, Jessie Garrett and Brandyn Garrett, both of Amarillo.
