Witnesses to this marriage were Joseph Lambertus (brother of Ernst's 1st wife) and Joseph's wife, Catherine Wagner. Their children were:
1) Caroline Mary, born 5 February 1882.

3) Noah J., born 14 January 1892.
Ernst died from heart failure on 4 July 1910 in Brant Township, Bruce, Ontario, Canada. He is buried at Walkerton Cemetery alongside his 2nd wife and his daughter, Regina.
