Sharon Lynn (Hollingsworth) Nixon passed away at home on February 23, 2015. She was 53. Sharon was raised in Arcadia and was valedictorian of her graduating class. She played clarinet in high school and college. A National Merit Scholar, she graduated with honors in English from UCLA. Sharon became a tutor in English and writing. Sharon is survived by her mother, Marlene, her brothers Bob and Dave, and sister-in-law Didi. We thank Sharon's caregivers for enabling us to honor her wish to die at home. A memorial service will be held in Arcadia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation. Your gifts will be acknowledged with a plaque in her memory in the lobby of the Arcadia Performing Arts Center.
