Catherine Theresa (Maloney) Higgins, born in New York City on Dec. 16, 1923, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017. She was 93.

Catherine joins her husband, Bob, and her siblings, already in Heaven: Margaret, Theresa, Jack, and Anna-May.

She is survived by her brother, Paul; her loving children, Robert (Susan), Mary (Gerard), Loretta (Hal), John, William (Eileen), Joe (Sheila), Dennis (Marguerite), Kevin (Rita), Catherine and Susan; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She spent more than 70 years in Brooklyn, devoting her time to raising her children while being successful in her 26-year career with the New York Telephone company. She retired in 1986 and then traveled the world, experiencing so many wonderful adventures in the United States as well as in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, Mexico, and the Caribbean. She was indeed a woman, who in her words 'did it all.'

Catherine moved to New Hope, Pa. in 1996, where she continued her travels and was actively involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Catherine will never be forgotten and will always be remembered with great love by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Catherine's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 5175 Cold Spring Creamery Rd., Doylestown, PA 18902. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening, at the Shelly Funeral Home, Easton & Keller's Church Road, Plumsteadville. Interment will take place Saturday in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.
