John C. Richter passed away peacefully Sunday, August 20, 2017 from complications of cancer.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Norma Richter; his son, John E. Richter; daughter, Dana Wooden; brother, Christopher Richter; sister, Gail (Richter) Caraway.

He was born in Chicago IL, served in the U.S. Army & retired as a painter & union carpenter. He was well loved by his family. Married for 39 years to his beautiful wife, Dianna (Kubot) Richter.

Survived by his daughters, Silvia (Don Petrie), Kimberly (Larry Gibas), Traci (Scott Pierce), Sirena (Timothy Liggett); 18 grand children; 13 great grand children; brothers, Charles Bud Richter, Kevin (Lisa) Richter; and sisters, Sharon (Robert) Tramblay, Mary Lou Gordon, Megan Richter, Heidi (Mario) DosSantos.

John lived in Chicago IL, owned several businesses, moved to Algonquin IL and then retired in Fort Myers FL. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed golfing, fishing, auctions, and he could repair almost anything. He was a great bargain hunter and always the life of the party. John loved helping people and will continue to help others through organ donation.

Please join on Saturday, August 26th at Glo-Bowl Fun Center, 101 Franks Road (Rt. 20 East) Marengo IL 60152, for a Celebration of his Life from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Service at 1:00 pm and a party to follow.

In lieu of flowers, it is his wish, that someone perform a random act of kindness, forgive someone, or make a memorial contribution to the charity of your choice.
