Haru Speer Bromley Bywater, 70, passed away January 3 at home of cancer.
Born Lehi, Utah, daughter of Ebben and Olive Stoker Speer. Graduate of East High School and attended the University of Utah. Member of Tabernacle Choir from age 18 for 18 years.
Married Francis C. Bromley in 1940 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died in 1965. Married Elwood G. Bywater in 1975 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Den mother for 15 years, secretary and counselor in the MIA, Primary, Relief Society, and held many leadership positions in the LDS Church. Fulfilled an 18 month mission with her husband to the St. George Visitors Centers in 1982-1983.
Credit manager of Granite Furniture Company during her early working years. Employed by Salt Lake City School District for 15 years at West High and Highland High schools in the counciling and vocational education departments.
Accomplished violinist, above all Haru was known and loved as a dedicated wife, mother, and friend to many.
Survivors: husband; sons and daughters, Mary Jane Fawson; John F. Bromley, both of St. George; Charles S. Bromley, West Germany; Michael D. Bromley; Elizabeth Ann Busath, both of Salt Lake City; Robert E. Bromley, Olympia, Washington; Step-children, Linda LIbby, Huntsville, Utah; Douglas E. Bywater, Vienna, Virginia; Virginia Finklea, North Slat Lake; Julia Mower, West Valley City; Gordon E. Bywater, Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Fern Sheya; 25 grandchildren; 28 step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 6, at 12 noon in the Hillside Stake Center, 1400 South 1900 East. Friends may call Monday 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors Russon Brothers Mortuary.
