Marcia Kay Walters of Alliance, NE was called by the Lord to her eternal resting place on August 6, 2017 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE. A Celebration of life will take place on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11 AM at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Hyannis, NE with Reverend Andrew Safarik officiating.
Marcia was born on February 5, 1944 in Gainesville, TX to Clyde F. Stednitz and Opal Lucretia Allbery while her father was serving in the U.S. Army. With the family eventually moving to the family farm near Gretna, NE.
On April 6, 1963, she married her high school sweetheart Robert E. Walters. From the unity of this marriage was born three boys; Gregory, Darryn, and Steven. While raising her family they enjoyed the farm life, rodeo, and following her husband and eventually their boys with demolition derbies. She loved to watch or listen to Husker football.
After the passing of her husband, Marcia enjoyed traveling and the companionship of her friend Les Douglass.
Marcia enjoyed following all her grandkids with their activities, fishing, beating everyone with a good game of cribbage, playing piano, and family gatherings for the holidays.
Marcia is survived by her sons Greg (Suzie) Walters of O’Neill, NE, Steve (Tina) Walters of Mitchell, NE, special friend Les Douglass of Alliance, NE, grandchildren Bobbi Walters of O’Neill, NE, Brandi Walters of O’Neill, NE, Blake Walters of O’Neill, NE, Alexis Brening of Gering, NE, Darryn Walters of Mitchell, NE, Lyndsey Walters of Mitchell, NE, and great-grandchildren Daniel and Alaynah Quijas of Gering, NE.
Marcia is preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Walters and son Darryn R. Walters.
