Marjorie Elouise George, 96, of San Angelo, passed away August 19, 2017.

She was born in Ferris, Texas to John Rufus and Clara Leona Burke on December 1, 1920.

Marjorie graduated from Lake View High School in 1939, and went on to marry the love of her life, William Henry George, on July 3, 1941. They attended Edmund Blvd Baptist Church. Her hobbies included sewing and tending to her garden.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Jeannie and husband Phil Buhle, Deb and husband John Paul Lee, and Pattie and husband Marty Self, all of San Angelo; her grandchildren, Deanna and Steven King, of Wylie, Darren and Charlotte Buhle, of San Angelo, Michelle and David Hopkins, of Bronte, Hillery and Brian Stevens, Joe and Raelye Self, all of San Angelo, Christina and Colter Scarborough, of Dallas, as well as 11 wonderful great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Charlene Hitt and Billie Stokes, of San Angelo, and one brother, Richard Burke, of Amarillo.

Marjorie is celebrating eternal life with Jesus and loved ones who passed before her, including her parents, her loving husband, Henry George, as well as two brothers and two sisters.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at 10 AM, in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Marty Self officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Edmund Blvd Baptist Church, Hospice of San Angelo, or a charity of your choice.
