UNITED STATES NAVY VETERAN OF WW II
Eugene N. Stevens, a longtime resident of Framingham, died Sunday August 20, 2017. He was the son of the late Nicholas & Evelyn (Matarona) Stevens.
Eugene grew up in Holyoke, and at the age of 23 joined the Navy serving honorably as a Navy Pilot in WWII.
In 1954 he married his beloved Ann Marie (Doherty), and in 1958 settled in Framingham where they raised their family. Eugene enjoyed a long career as a plumbing supplies salesman, retiring in his early 70's from Urell, Inc of Watertown. An avid golfer, he was a 50+ year member of the Marlborough Country Club, and an active parishioner and volunteer of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Weston.
Eugene is survived by his daughter, Nancy Galligan & her husband Martin of Wellesley, his son, Jeffrey Stevens & his wife Dolores Nolder of Framingham, his three grandchildren, his sister, Cleo Hamel of Holyoke.
Besides his wife Ann Marie of 57 years, Eugene was predeceased by one brother and five sisters.
Interment in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham.
