July 2017 – Passage. Our loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and caring Friend, Edna Marie (Reay) Knight, 70, passed away peacefully at home on July 3, 2017. She was born Feb. 5, 1947 in Roosevelt, UT. to Laura (Teddy) and Max Reay.

We will miss her warm embrace, big heart, and her contagious smile. Some of her best times were when they moved to Price, UT to live with her grandparents and work with them on their farm. She had one of the hardest jobs any mother could have when she became a military wife. She was the glue and rock that kept the family together.

After she retired from IRS she loved to travel and read. She also developed a love for humming birds. She loved to go to Alaska to be with her son often, she loved everything about being up there. She called home the first time she saw a moose "Damn they are big", she said. It was walking past her on the road as they were stopped at a light.

The Northern Lights were like a magnet to her. She would go from the back door to the front door for hours at a time trying get the best view of them. Her son would have to remind her about how cold it was and how to check to see if she was out there too long. Santa Claus House was the next best thing for her visits; she spent more time and money there than anywhere else in the state.

She crossed off an item on her bucket list by going on a relaxing cruise to Hawaii with her sister, daughter, granddaughters, and niece. She visited all five islands, during her visit she got to see active volcanoes, dolphins, and to submerge herself under the oceans waves in a submarine. She got to enjoy the sun and the sand, and time with family. She enjoyed going to lunch and the movies with her grandchildren, and spending time with her great-grandchildren.

Edna is survived by her husband; Johnnie Knight, her children; John (Stephanie) Knight, and Laurie (Roger) Shurtliff, one brother, three sisters, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill, and sister, Maxine.

We want to give special thanks to Thatcher Brook Rehabilitation and Care Center, and to Callie and Kylie with Comfort WoRx Hospice for their tremendous care and support.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Ramblin Road, 544 West 400 North, Bountiful, Utah 84010 Services entrusted to Leavitt's Mortuary, Ogden, Utah.
