PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Rev. I. N. Augustine passed away at her home, 812 West Fifth street, this morning at 7:35 after a protracted illness of three months from a stroke of paralysis. The end had been expected for several days and the passing came in a peaceful slumber. At her bedside were her faithful husband and beloved children who silently witnessed the death angel bear the spirit of one who was the dearest wife and mother on earth.
Mrs. Augustine was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, October 16, 1835, and would have been 80 years of age on her next birthday. She was the next eldest of eleven children, six sons and five daughters. On April 17, 1853, she was united in marriage to Isaac N. Augustine. Mrs. Augustine was brought up in the German Reform church. In the year 1865 Rev. and Mrs. Augustine became impressed with the western fever and moved to St. Charles, Mo., and later to Shipman, Ill., where they lived for 12 years. In 1879. . .Loganport, Ind., and from there to Ottawa, Ill. In the fall of 1881, they moved to Nebraska. . . Thayer county. . .1890, when they moved to Hastings. . .to Wheeler county and then located in Grand Island which has been their home ever since. . ..
Besides the husband, who is past 82 years of age, there are five children and many grandchildren left to mourn the loss of their mother and grandmother. The children are I. M. Augustine, of this city; George and Norman Augustine of this city; and Mrs. H. N. Bartow. The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the English Lutheran church.
