Born September 3, 1951 in Murray, Kentucky, Katherine Ann was a daughter of Carmel David and Virginia Marcine (Hicks) Boyle. She was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1969. In August of 1975, Kathy married Bill James in Joliet, and he preceded her on December 26, 1986. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wilmington, and was employed as an office manager with Boy Scouts of America. Kathy initially worked at the Rainbow Council before transferring to the Calumet Council in Munster, Indiana from where she retired after nearly 30 years of service.
Kathy was a fan of the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and took pleasure in cooking and baking. She truly cherished every opportunity that she could attend or watch her grandchildren as they participated in their sports and activities.
Survivors include her two children: Stacy (Britton) Roth of Wilmington and Adam (LeAnn) James of Minnetrista, Minnesota; one step-son Billy (Sherrie) James of Arlington, Virginia; (7) grandchildren: Alec Roth, Garrett Roth, Ethan James, Kinsey Roth, Beckett James, Simon James and Mika James; two step-grandchildren: Aaron James and Ashley James; three sisters: Kay (Steve) Gibson and Sue Davis, both of Coal City and Debbie (Charlie) Douglass of Wilmington, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special cousins.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Billy.
Green flameless cremation rites are being accorded.
