Calvin L. Mallette was born to Sherman & Dorothy (Hogan) Mallette on September 21, 1926 in Colome, South Dakota.

He passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017.

He graduated from the high School in Craig, NE.

On February 22, 1946 he married Jean Landholm in Tekamah, NE and to this union they had 3 children.

Calvin worked for the Watershed Department of the Soil Conservation Service retiring after 35 years. He also retired from the Army Reserves after 30 years.

He belonged to the 5th Army Pistol Team where he traveled all around the United States and was awarded many trophies.

He was also a life member of the American Legion Post #100 in Syracuse, NE.

Cal is survived by his Wife: Jean Mallette of Syracuse, Son-in-law: Gary Weiler & Joyce Gilbert of Syracuse, Granddaughters: Jill & Brian Thompson of West Des Moines, IA, Kam & Chris McCoy of Austin, TX, Great Grandchildren: Sarah, Jack & Joe Thompson, River & Lake McCoy, Sister: Darlene & Edwin Koehler of Pittsburg, KS and Brother-in-law: Lyle Davis of Lincoln, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, daughters: Susan Weiler & Sandra Hahn, brother: Dan and sister: Dorothy Belle Davis.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, August 22 at 10:30 A.M. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey chapel in Syracuse.
