ALLMAN, Paul Venning, 95,  was born January 26, 1921 and passed away June 23, 2016. Paul was the son of Loomis Clyde Allman and Florence Will Allman and grew up in Oak Hill, West Virginia. He always kept the neighborly ways of this small town in his heart. He joined the Air Force, and it became a 20 year commitment. His first marriage was to Marjorie Short and they had a son, Paul V. Allman Jr. He met second wife Rita Zoldak in Ohio and, thanks to the Air Force, spent most of the first three years of marriage in Hawaii. Paul and Rita moved to Rome, New York and had three children; Brian, Lynn and Mark. Paul came to Tampa to work at McDill Air Force Base and after retiring from the military worked 20 years for the US Postal Service. He retired and moved to Madeira Beach, where he walked the shoreline, fished, and worked on the administration of his condo. After Rita’s death in 2010, he moved to John Knox Village in Tampa. Paul had a lifelong love of fishing. In Hawaii, the fish were just a dive away. In Rome, New York he caught one of the largest pikes ever. In Madeira Beach, he also caught stone crabs. Paul will be remembered by so many people as a dedicated friend. He took genuine interest in learning about their lives and helping with their projects. Over the years, he met his friends at the NCO club, the bowling alley, the golf course, the Surfside Tower party room, and the John Knox Village dining room where the Blue Notes played big band music. Many people at Surfside Tower in Madeira Beach, John Knox Village in Tampa, and wherever their lives took them will miss his dedicated friendship. His surviving family will miss his love and many stories. In his long life, Paul was predeceased by sisters Marguerite Pagnato and Esther Brown, wives Marjorie and Rita, sons Paul Jr. and Mark, and daughter Lynn Angst. He is survived by sister Joan Shoemaker, son Brian, daughter-in-law Jackie Naehring Allman, daughter-in-law Connie Allman, grandsons Barry, Shawn, Scott, and Neil and granddaughter Laura Allman Danton along with seven great grandchildren with two more on the way. He will be laid to rest in Garden of Memories in Tampa.
