Joe worked for 27 years with the Henderson County Road Department and he drove a school bus for three years. He was a farmer, as well, for many years. Joe attended Spottsville Baptist Church. He loved music, reading, feeding birds, and enjoying time with friends at The Gathering Place. He will be remembered as a local historian with an impeccable memory. Any person or event he experienced, he could recount as if no time had passed. “Pa Joe” was loved and will be missed greatly by friends and family.
In addition to his parents, Arthur and Georgia York, Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois York, brother, Carl York, sister Anita Skaggs and great grandson, Lucas Hudson Ewing.

Relatives and friends are invited to Joe’s Life Celebration from 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday and again on Wednesday starting at 10:00am at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the funeral home with the Reverend Ralph Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.
