Harry L. Skinner, 89, Logansport, passed away at 4:08 p.m., on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in his residence.

Born in Logansport on April 25, 1928, he was the son of Garold and Helen DeLon Skinner.

On March 12, 1955, in Logansport, he was married to Jean Ann Smith, who preceded him in death on November 29, 2006.

A life-long resident of Logansport and a 1946 graduate of Logansport High School, Harry had been a self-employed bricklayer/mason since 1952, retiring in 2003, after 35 years from his company, Harry Skinner Masonry. He was a 65-year member of Bricklayers and Allied Crafts Union.

As a golf fanatic, he spent many hours at Dykeman Park, and enjoyed his friends in the “Liar’s Club”. He was Past Runner-Up in the City Golf Tourney, had been a multi-time Past Champion at Par 3 and the Country Club, and Past Senior Champion at Dykeman.

Harry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was anticipating the arrival of his future great grandchild.

He had served in the Indiana National Guard for seven years.

Surviving are children, Brett (Cindy) Skinner, Auburndale, Florida and Kim (Dave) Mier, Lafayette; long-time special friend, Millie Graybeal; sister, Jerry Kay (Jim) Fuson, Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Brad Mier and his wife, Jill Sullivan, and Bryan Mier, and his friend, Amy McGaughey .

A private family service will be conducted at Kroeger Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Smith officiating, and interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dykeman Park Golf Course Association.
