Jimmy Gayle Rose passed away peacefully at his home in Jacksonville, FL on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the age of 80. Jim was surrounded by his loving wife, family and friends at the time of his passing.
Jim is survived by his loving and caring wife of 40 years, Linda Manucy Rose. Jim and Linda were married in St. Augustine, FL, on July 17, 1977. Jim and Linda enjoyed their family, their church family, bullseye target shooting, traveling, and watching football.
Jim is lovingly remembered by his children: Jilene Rose Tomlinson (Billy), Michael Blount (Luisa), Dee Dee Blount Starkey (Irving “Bud” Smith), Chris Rose (Charlene), and Keith Blount (Linda); his grandchildren: Candace Rose Tomlinson Quentin (Jimmy), Jason Blount (Megan Faulconer), Brian Blount (Jennifer), Ashley Blount, Christopher Rose, Amanda Rose Helmuth (Tyler), Will Tomlinson (Danielle Polhemus), Lynn Rose Beiler (Mark), Jonathan Rose, Jimmy Tomlinson (Payton Crawford), Paul Rose (Tiffany Kersy), Matthew Rose, and Hannah Rose; his great-grandchildren: Amber Rose, Chari Beiler,,Missy Beiler, RaeLynn Rose Tomlinson, and Fletcher Rose.
The viewing will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Jacksonville, FL, where Jim was a member. A special family viewing will be held at 5:00. The Mass/funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the church. The Rosary will be held prior to the service at 9:30. Father Tim Rozier will be officiating. Immediately after Mass, Most Holy Redeemer’s Ladies Group will provide a meal. The burial will be at San Lorenzo Cemetery, 1635 US-1 Highway, St. Augustine, FL at 3:00. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fraser Funeral Home.
