Thomas Quacum/ Quagum/Quockow/Quarker/Quacko was born in Plymouth County, Massachusetts and was likely a descendant of 17th century Herring Pond Indian Quacum.

He married in Hingham 23 December 1782, Phillis Dolphin. They had the following child:
Phillis Quacum, b. Marshfield 1783, d. Plymouth 3 Feb. 1803, m. 1798 John Mevas.

Thomas and Phillis separated, and he next published marriage intentions in Bridgewater on 16 July 1785 with Lettice (Stewart) Richards. They had the following child:
Vilana, b. Bridgewater 1786, d. Lucan, Ontario 20 June 1850, m. Philip Harris.

Thomas and Lettice separated, and he next published marriage intentions again with Phillis (Dolphin) Richards in Bridgewater 15 April 1789. They had the following daughter:
Rosanna, b. Bridgewater 1789, d. Lucan, Ontario 1 Nov. 1878, m. John Carter and William Bell.

Thomas next had five children born with either Phillis or an unknown wife:
John, b. Pembroke 1795-1799, d. Marshfield 1831, m. Margaret Calley alias Leonard.
Betsy, b. Marshfield 1802, d. Boston 4 May 1830, m. Charles Williams.
Salome, b. Marshfield 1806, d. Lucan, Ontario 19 April 1873, m. Peter Butler.
Phebe, b. Marshfield by 1809, m. Henry Carroll.
Thomas Jefferson, b. Marshfield 1810, d. Boston 13 Nov. 1843, m. Eunice Prince and Hannah Hill.

From about 1801 until his death in the 1820s, Thomas Quacum lived on the north shore of Chandler's Mill Pond in Marshfield and worked at the Chandler grist mill. He was buried in Marshfield.

Three of his daughters - Vilana, Rosanna, and Salome - became founding mothers of the Wilberforce Colony in Lucan, Ontario, a community of African Americans who settled in Canada.
