Randall arrived in Vietnam 26 February 1970, and was assigned to H & S Company, 1st Recon Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Randall died as a result of bodily injuries to the body during a recon extraction when the CH-46A was shot down by hostile forces.
Survived by his parents, William N and Phyllis Manela and his brother; Michael Manela all of Eugene, Oregon.
Awarded the Bronze Star Medal (Valor).
