Richard E. Stock, age 75, of Yankton, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, SD.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Yankton, with Rev. Dave Wildermuth officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at a later date. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Richard was born October 12, 1935 to Walter and Esther (Giedd) Stock at Wagner, SD. He was united in marriage to Joan Marie McCarthy in Lewiston, Maine. To this union three children were born, Michael, Mary Ann, and Theresa. Richard served in the US Air Force for four years and was stationed in Maine. After his honorable discharge from service he worked at Bates Manufacturing in Lewiston, Maine for one year. He and Joan moved back to Yankton, SD and was employed as a psychiatric aide at the Human Services Center for 35 years.
He is survived by his wife Joan of Yankton; son, Michael of Yankton; daughter Mary Ann of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers, Gene Stock of Sturgis, SD and Arthur Stock of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters Audrey (Maynard) Hurst of Pukwana, SD and Betty (Dick) Hrdlicka of Tripp, SD; three grandchildren; Jennifer Stock and fiancé LeRoy LaCroix of Yankton, SD, Brittaney Schroeder of Mitchell, SD and Nicole Schroeder of Volin, SD; 5 great grandchildren Kiani Banta, Jarren Banta, Alexis Yosten, Desiree Yosten, and Hunter Yosten all of Yankton, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Theresa, one sister Bernice, and three brothers Floyd, Walter, and Alvin Stock.
