Tonya Jo Reynolds, age 55, went to be with the Lord Saturday August 19th after a 7 year battle with progressive Aphasia and Alzheimer’s. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, got her Associates degree from Tyler Junior College, where she was an Apache Belle, and got her degree in education from Stephen F. Austin State University.
She is survived by her husband Dewayne Reynolds, her daughter Kerbi Smith and her husband Jeremy, her son Hunter Franklin and his wife Shelby, her grandchildren Bradie and Beau, her mother Linda Alexander, sister Sonya Hamilton, brother Greg Powell and his wife Tammey, sister Staci Lyon and her husband Bucky, her niece Brooke Hight and her husband Brent and their children Emma and Easton, her nephew J.K. Hamilton, her niece Kyndall Powell and her nephew Luke Powell.
Tonya had many wonderful qualities but she was most known for her love for her family and friends and helping those in need. She taught 2nd grade for 27 years and delighted in helping children with special needs. Her generous spirit and selfless love will be missed but not forgotten.
Visitation is scheduled from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, August 21st, 2017 at Stewart Funeral Home. A private family burial will be held at the Wood-Verner cemetery.
