Mr. Marley was born April 17, 1933, in Sharon to his parents, Paul Marley and Cecelia Wiesen Marley. He graduated from Sharon High School and soon after joined the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean conflict. After returning home, Robert married his wife, Lillian Heck Marley, who survives at home. Mr. Marley retired as the maintenance foreman from the former Damascus Tubular division of Sharon Steel Corp., Reynolds. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Hickory Post 6166, Hermitage, and Transfer Sportsmen’s Club. Among his hobbies, Mr. Marley enjoyed amateur radio and held a private pilot’s license for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Kathryn Berry and Christine Marley; two grandchildren, Jeremy and Jennifer Hendri; and a brother, Raymond Marley.
