Andes, Charles Scovil II, (Chuck) of Rocky River, Ohio, age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Wednesday, August 16, 2017. Chuck was born on July 3, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio.

He attended Purdue University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, followed by an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. Chuck was a Staff Sargent in the US Marine Corps where he was an expert marksman. He was an avid reader and a history and family ancestry buff. After a career as a sales engineer with Allen-Bradley, he retired to enjoy sailing on Lake Erie with his family on their boat 'Gorgeous Gert'. He was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and uncle. Chuck and his wife Shirley were long time members of the Cleveland Yacht Club until selling their boat 4 years ago.

He was preceded in death by Shirley, his loving wife of 65 years. In addition, he endured the loss of his daughter, Elizabeth, and his sister, Alice.

He is survived by his daughters Leslie Andes and Carolyn Speirs (Jim), and his son Charles lll (Kathy); his grandchildren Charles lV and Ethan; his nieces Linda Kocher (Erik), Janet Slusser (Eric), Debby Hutras (Scott), and nephew Tom Bramlage (Pam). His niece Martha Miller died in 2015.
A private memorial service for family only will take place graveside at Lakewood Park Cemetery.
