Emily Ann Sprouse Thompson, 80, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Huttleson and Rev. Charles Phelps officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
A native of Richmond County, Mrs. Thompson was born June 25, 1937, the daughter of the late Lee and Cora Lockhart Sprouse. She was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Thompson was retired from Klaussner Furniture. She loved quilting with friends at the Salt Box and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Strider; and brother, Jack Sprouse.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Roy Thompson of the home; daughters, Sharon T. Wood of Asheboro, Teresa Thompson of Morganton, NC; sons, Michael Thompson and wife, Kristy of Randleman, Ronnie Thompson of Asheboro, Tony Thompson and wife, Doris of Seagrove; sister, Shirley Comer of West Moore; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
