Mrs. Alice May Williams, 88, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Lake City Medical Center following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Frederick T and Mabile Whitney Downing and the widow of the late Arthur Thomas Williams, Sr. She is preceded in death by one sister Nancy Schrenkle. She had made Lake City her home for the past twenty-one years after moving here from Springhill, FL; she was a member of the St. James Episcopal church and enjoyed playing bingo.
She is survived by two sons Arthur T. Williams, Jr. (Grace) Denton, TX; and Gregory S. Williams (Debbie) Theodore, AL; one daughter Cheryl Williams Plyn (Randall) Lake City, FL; and one brother Frederick Downing, Jr. (Dorothy) Deltona, FL; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral service for her will be conducted September 19, 2017 at the St. James Episcopal Church at 11:00 A.M. with Father Doug Hodsdon officiating. Interment will be held on Monday August 21, 2017 at 1:30 P.M. at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the DEES-PARRISH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in Lake City, FL.
