Ada Wess Martin, 79, of Littlefield entered into eternal peace Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at his home. A celebration of his life will be held at Trinity Chuch in Littlefield at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, led by Micheal Simpson. Wess was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Floydada, to Thomas Henry and Jimmie Jewel (Isom) Martin. He graduated from Lorenzo High School with the class of 1956. On May 20, 1960, he married Jowanna Ussery in Ralls. Throughout his life, Wess worked in several types of jobs, but his favorfite was the time he and Jowanna spent running The Curly Top Drive-in in Littlefield for 19 years. Even though he has been retired several years, he is still known as “The Curly Top Man.” He was a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan; and he enjoyed square dancing, wood working, and reading, especially Louis westerns by Louis L’amour. Wess is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tom Martin; and a sister, Nell Valentine.
