Donald Emmett Keen, age 77, of the Daw Road section of Doran, Virginia passed away Sunday (January 21, 2007) in a Tazewell, Virginia hospital. Born May 19, 1929 in Swords Creek, Virginia, he was a son of the late John Wiley and Allifair Boyd Keen. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Holiness faith. He was a retired farmer and former bus driver for Russell County Schools.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Donnie Ray Keen, two sisters, Lydia Miller and Litie Keen; eight brothers. Parson Keen, Charlie Keen, Robert Keen, John Keen, Reece Keen, Bascom Keen, Bill Keen and Arnold Keen. In his generation, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Beatrice Ina Buchanan Keen of the home; one son, Isaac Keen; two daughters, Connie Musick and Jessie Keen Griffith both of Raven, Virginia; two grandsons, Brandon Helton of Castlewood, Virginia and Benjamin Keen; two granddaughters, Sara Robinette Corsby and Jennifer Robinette both of Lebanon, Virginia; one step-granddaughter, Susie Bodea; five great-grandsons; one step-great-granddaughter, Angel Bodea and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 PM Wednesday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Shortt, Rev. David Lowe and Rev. Clyde Ball officiating. Interment followed in the Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia.

Pallbearers were Roy Griffith, Andy Houchins, Tommy Keen, Billy Keen, Stanley Keen and David Keen.
