John lived at 1610 East 6th Street in Merrill. This house is located at the corner of 6th and Chestnut Street NW corner. John was first married to Anna L. Madglin 1879 to 1928. They married in Chicago July 29, 1900. His second wife was Emma maiden name unknown Bessert. They were married by 1930. Living with them was Emma's daughter Lizzie Bessert who had polio when young. John's children with his first wife was Eleanore, William, Mabel, John Jr., Ora and Hazel. Memories of John, Emma and Lizzie is they spent lots of time sitting in their screened in front porch during nice weather. My connection to this family only is of a childhood neighbor. I spent lots of time visiting on that porch with them along with my mother. They would have myself or my brother 'go to McCoy's Grocery Store' in the 1950's for them. RIP John Stoelting Sr.

I found John, Emma and Bessie's graves on the CD made of this cemetery via the Merrill Genealogy group.
