Sally JoAnn Rose
December 28, 1935 - August 15, 2017 (age 81)

BIOGRAPHY
Sally JoAnn Killam Rose was born December 28, 1935 in Milford, Utah to Cecil and Josephine Thomas Killam. Sally lived in several railroad communities along the tracks until she was 5 years old and started kindergarten. That is when they made a permanent home in Milford. Sally graduated from Milford High School in 1953. After she graduated she moved to Salt Lake City and worked for the telephone company as a telephone operator. She moved back to Milford in January of 1957.

In the summer of 1958 she went to the local grocery store to buy a bag of flour and she met the nicest young man who insisted on carrying out the bag for her. This was the beginning of a beautiful love affair. She married the love of her life, Ronnie Rose, on December 2, 1958. They made their home in Milford and raised a wonderful family. Together they had nine children: Kerry Lynn Rose (deceased), Rick, Debra, Chellie, Russell, Rodney, Randie, Roger, and Robbie.

Much of their life was spent in the mountains out west, in the mineral mountains (Ranch Canyon), and at the Minersville Lake. Sally and Ronnie would always be sitting side by side and kids piled everywhere! Of course, it wasn't ever just their own kids, there were always a few neighbor kids thrown in the bunch. Sally had a love of old bottles and trinkets also. She was seen quite frequently out by Frisco with a truck full of kids and either Evelyn Wiseman or Florence Wood with her and they would be digging in the dirt to find something wonderful.

Sally was a member of the Milford EMT's for many years. She was a member of the BPW in Milford and was chosen as the Woman of the Year one year. She began working at the Milford Clinic in 1977 when her children were mostly raised. She loved this job and did a wonderful job at it. The little children in Milford soon would not let anyone else in the clinic give them their shots except for "Grandma Sally." When Ronnie started having some health issues she retired to stay home and take care of him, she accepted that role and became his constant nurse.

Sally was always a #1 Milford Tiger fan. She and Ronnie followed their children and grandchildren in all activities and sports. They loved to pack up the truck and head somewhere to a ballgame of some kind.

She was a member of the LDS Church and attended faithfully. She held many callings and gave everything she had to each of them. She always said that her favorite calling was the nursery, again most all of the kids in Milford know her as Grandma Sally! After Ronnie passed away in July of 2013 she accepted a new calling. She was given the job of distributing birthday cards to the women of the ward each month. This temporarily filled some loneliness. Sally truly had a broken heart that could not be mended and missed her companion greatly. Sally and Ronnie were sealed in the St. George Temple on March 10, 2016. She and Ronnie were always very proud of their "Wild Rose Bush" which now includes 45 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and hundreds more that called them Grandma and Grandpa!

Sally is survived by her children: Rick (Kathy) Rose of Milford; Debra (Ron) Capps of Pensacola, Florida; Chellie (Dale) Craw of Minersville; Russell (Melissa) Rose, Rodney Rose, Randie Rose, Roger (Marie) Rose, and Robb Rose, all of Milford; brother Douglas (JoAnn) Killam of Bountiful, Utah; brother-in-law Robert (Dolores) Rose of Salt Lake City, sister Kathy (Conrad) Hintze of West Jordan, Utah; and sister-in-law Margaret Killam of Milford.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers John and Kevin, sister Krissy, daughter Kerry Lynn, great-granddaughter Jessica Jo Jury, and great-great-grandson Joey Ronald Jury.

Sally was a very kind and compassionate lady. Her one goal in life was to do anything she could for anyone that needed it. She was an inspiration to all those that knew her. She will be greatly missed by many!

Funeral will be held Monday August 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with a viewing Sunday, August 20, from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary in Milford, Utah and again Monday from 10:00- 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Milford City Cemetery.
