Der Deutsche Correspondent, Baltimore. 6-24-1886 (translated):

Died in the flower of youth. -- Miss Klara Ottilie Rudolph, the second-oldest daughter of the Vice President of the German Sparbank [savings bank], Mr. Ernst Rudolph, left the circle of her loved ones on Monday, the 23th instant, at 11 o'clock in the morning. Yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, numerous friends and acquaintances accompanied her remains from the home, No. 314 Franklin Street, to the Evangelical [Protestant] St. Paul's Lutheran Church, corner Fremont and Saratoga Street, where Pastor G. Johannes performed a solemn funeral service. From Psalm 23, verse 1, which had been chosen by the departed before her death, he gave an edifying sermon, in which he honored the deceased and gave consoling words to the afflicted survivors. The coffin stood before the altar and was adorned with a rich abundance of the most precious blossoms and flowers. The church choir, accompanied by Prof. Benj. Feiertag, sang "Nach der Heimath" [going home] with emotion. After the usual prayer, the stately funeral cortege moved to the local cemetery at Druidhill Park, where the deceased was yielded over to the earth. Here the choir devoted another song to her, namely, "Unter allen Wipfeln ist Ruh." Pallbearers, Messrs. Martin Frinke, Frank Horleben, Wilh. Romoser, H. Merkel, Theo. Katenkamp and Wilh. Lenz did final honors. Miss Klara Otillie Rudolph was born in Baltimore on January 29, 1865, lived all her life in her parents' home, and had earned the love and respect of all who knew her, both for her loving nature and her noble character. Her father, mother, four brothers and three sisters mourned at the grave.
