BOBBIE O. BAKER, 75, of Paris, died Wednesday January 2, 2008 at Dubuis Hospital in Paris. Starrett Funeral Home will conduct graveside rites at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday January 5, 2008 at Long Cemetery, with Rev. Duane Hamil and Rev. Larry Solice officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bobbie was born June 9, 1932 in the Biardstown community, a daughter of Willie Lee “Son” and Coy Quilla Griffith Shew. She was a retired nurse, and of the Baptist faith.

She married Eddie R. Baker on May 27, 1950, in Paris.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Eddie Wayne Baker and wife Nancy, of Powderly; five sisters, Joyce Pounds and husband Charles, of Houston, Norma Beard and husband Fred, of Abilene, Nelda Milling and husband Bill, of Novice, Peggy Rice and husband Jack, of Lufkin, and Shelia Todd and husband Johnny, of Lamar Point; a brother, Danny Shew, of Brookston; two grandchildren, Lisa Martin and Chris Baker and wife Bonnie, all of Powderly; and four great-grandchildren.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents Son and Coy Shew; and an uncle, Tooter Shew.
