He was a lab director with Reynolds Metals with 39 years of service and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at Goodwood Blvd. Church of Christ, 10715 Goodwood Blvd., 9 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Minister Allen Cooper. Burial in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Survived by wife, Juanita Santy Adkins, Addis; mother, Edith Hallmark Adkins, Baton Rouge; three daughters, Rebecca Adkins, Addis, Cynthia Anderson, Cohoma, Texas, and Kathy Bourg, Baton Rouge; three sons, Fredrick E. Adkins III, Little Rock, Ark., Jerry Eugene Adkins, Benton, Ark., and Jack Houston Clevenger, Morgan City; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Preceded in death by first wife, Virginia Beavers Adkins; and father, Fredrick Earl Adkins Sr. He was a deacon and member of the Goodwood Blvd. Church of Christ., a member of the American Chemical Society, and V.F.W. Post No. 3785 of Addis.
