She married Ernest S. Carr and in 1956 moved to Austin. After the children were school age, Charlsie worked as a cashier at Kress's and later, Walgreens until retirement. She most recently resided in Smithville. She was a gentle, kind, and happy person who loved to read, and care for her schnauzer, Cody.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest Carr, brother Bill Polk, sister Yettie Jordan, baby sister Lillian, and daughter Susan Du Bois.
She is survived by her sister, Sandra Wooley (Bill) of Bartlett, daughter Kitty Carr-Perez (Joe) of Kerrville, son Brett Carr (Karen) of Mason, three grandchildren: Abigail, Rebekah, and Adam.
Services will be held at First Methodist Church in Smithville. Interment will occur at Oakhill Cemetery in Smithville.
