Agapito Jay Armenta
Agapito Jay Armenta, 85, of Jerome, passed away July 19, 2000, at St. Benedict's LTCU after a long illness.
He was born April 20, 1915, in Antonito, Colorado, and lived in Jerome for 50 years. He married Alfonsa Frances Martinez on May 24, 1937, in Del Norte, Colorado. They were married for 63 years. Despite his long illness, he has touched the lives of everyone around, especially his children and caregivers. When he smiled he lit up our hearts.
Jay is survived by his wife Frances Armenta; his children, Mary Ann Keith of Arizona, Roger Becky of Parma, Mike of Jerome, Jennie Bob Jerome, Rudy Sandi of Las Vegas, Charlie Tauna of Twin Falls, and Rosie Al of McCall; brothers Louis Martinez and Joe Armenta; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Eddy.
A visitation will be held today from 4-6 p.m. at Farnsworth Mortuary at 1343 S. Lincoln in Jerome, followed by a Vigil at 7 p.m., at St. Jerome's Catholic Church at 216 Second Ave. E. in Jerome. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 22, 2000 at 11 a.m. at St. Jerome's Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Jerome Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at St. Benedict's LTCU for the years of loving care.
