Capt. John Raike, an old time Riverman, died in his home in Quincy, Ky., Monday at a ripe old age. He suffered a paralytic stroke last Friday and never recovered from the effects thereof. He was an uncle of Raike Brothers, noted junk men.
He owned the towboat Cora and other smaller crafts and followed the river for many years. The remains were taken to Greenup today for interment.
