Obituary of Bernice Knickle
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Bernice Mary (Coffin) Knickle, of Hantsport, on December 20, 2016 with her loving daughter Barb at her side. Born June 3, 1921 in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late George Coffin and Kathleen Pyke. During her later years she was known for her love of painting, cooking pies and date squares and cheering for her beloved Blue Jays. She was a remarkable woman who will be missed by all who knew her.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Fred; and son-in law, Mervyn. She is survived by her daughters, Barb (Jamie) Swindells, Judith Swaine, and son, George (Brenda) Knickle; grandsons, Justin Swindells, Shawn Swindells, Sydney Swaine and Adam Knickle, and granddaughter, Natasha Retieffe.
The family would like to thank We Care, the Hants Community Hospital, her Doctor, Cathryn Smith, and the many members of her circle of friends that made her later years so enjoyable.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., PO Box 981, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0 (902-798-8317). A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Riverbank Cemetery, Hantsport. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bernice may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of one's choice.
