Passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Age 85. Phyllis was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on December 13, 1931, the daughter of the late Fred and Evelyn (Kronquist) MacDonald. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed quilting, being at the family cabin in Sault Ste. Marie and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Russell S. Bishop; children, Eric Bishop, David (Teresa) Bishop and Karen Gensurowsky; grandchildren, Christopher, Jeremy, Chasen, Kylen and Evyn; sister, Jeannie (Scott) Ludwig; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Willard MacDonald. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1747 W. Milham Ave., Portage, MI 49024, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Rachel Laughlin will officiate with interment to follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lutheran World Relief or the American Cancer Society.
