Jerry was raised in Niagara Falls, where he graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He later obtained his Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Buffalo State College in Education. In 1968, he began his career teaching for the North Tonawanda School District as a science instructor until his retirement in 1996. Jerry was a mentor to his students and truly loved teaching. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Joseph is survived by his brother, Edward (Janice) Critelli, one nephew, Paul Critelli and several cousins
