Grave side services for Carol Pate, 73, of Post were held at 2 PM Tuesday, August 15, 2017, in Terrace Cemetery with Bro. Jack Maddox of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial with military honors was under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home.
Carol died on August 11, 2017, in Lubbock. He was born to L. B. and Ruth (Kiker) Pate on February 18, 1944, in Post. After graduation from Post High School he enlisted in the US Air Force where he served for almost 23 years retiring in 1985. He married Helen Mayhon on July 30, 1966, in Clovis, New Mexico. Carol was an avid member of the Cowboy Shooting Association.
Survivors include his wife Helen of Post; one daughter, Deanne Hancock of Post; one brother, James Pate of Corsicana, Texas; one Sister, Elaine Salazar of Florida; four grandchildren, Lisa Marie Schmitt of Post, Courtney Schmitt of Clovis, Donovan Schmitt of Post and Zachary Schmitt of Columbia, SC and two great grandchildren, David Rodriquez of Post and Saran Rodriquez of Cummings, Texas.
