He was born in Botetourt, VA to the late Wiltsie Willis Gibson and Violet May Moran.
He was also predeceased by his sons, Ricky L. and Michael B. Gibson; brothers, Robert Jack Gibson, Willis Maynard Gibson, and sister, Ruby G. Roberts.
He worked for Johnson-Carper/Singer Furniture Company as a supervisor for 44 years.
Surviving family includes his wife, Linda A. Wray; son, Benjamin (Nikkie) V. Gibson, II; step-children, Tony Satterwhite and Tracy (Erasmo) S. Casares; brothers, Wayne (Juanita) Gibson and Donnie Gibson; sister, Phyllis (JB) Powell; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Lotz Funeral Home Chapel in Vinton with Pastor Gary Alls officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
