Donald Roy Andren, 79, a resident of Chickamaw Beach in Pine River, died unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
Donald was born in Minneapolis on August 5, 1938, to Carl Ivar and Agnes Johnson Andren and spent most of his life working as journeyman plumber for Honeywell and eventually Alliant Tech Systems until his retirement in January 1997. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserve and then the United States Army Reserve with a total of 23 years of service.
He was married to Muriel Sarazin (Reiman) of Minneapolis, MN, for 12 years. He later married Delores Merrill (Dorstad) of Golden Valley, MN, on January 20, 1985, and remained married until the time of his death.
Donald is survived by his wife, Delores (Dee) Andren, Pine River, MN; son, Daniel Andren, Big Lake, MN; daughter, Lorilyn Newbolt (husband Timothy), Andover, MN; stepdaughter, Sherry Beck, Ramsey, MN; and stepson, Brian Reed (wife Barb), Princeton, MN. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Services are at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, at the Crosslake Christian Assembly of God Church in Crosslake, MN, with visitation for family and friends one hour prior. There will then be a private burial at the Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery in Little Falls, MN, for family members only. Arrangements with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
