Larry Short, age 67 of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2017. He was a 1968 graduate of Greenville Park High School.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Tangipahoa Parish School System. His greatest pleasure came from fishing.

He is survived by two daughters: Mildred (Unseld) Johnson of Hammond, Louisiana and Crystal Short Smith (Lawaski) of Albany, Louisiana. Four grandchildren: January Crawford, Unseld Johnson, Jr., Undre' Johnson and Ryleigh Smith. One sister, Celene Short of Hammond, Louisiana; two brothers: Othello Short of Hammond, Louisiana and Lee Short, Jr. of St. Paul, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by parents: Lee Edward and Gussie Short, a son, Tiko Crawford; a daughter, Rochelle Short Brock; two brothers: Arthur Short and Gregory Short and a loving friend, Juanita Crawford Harris.

A celebration of life is being held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at N.A. James Funeral Home on 1601 West Thomas Street in Hammond, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 9-11am with the services starting at 11am. The internment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Action17 News, Hammond, LA.
