Julie Ann (Farnsworth) Akins, 69, Robinson, Illinois, formerly of Martinsville, passed away at 6:18 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care in Robinson, Illinois.
She was born on Wednesday, August 2, 1944 in Portland, Maine, to the late Ira B. and Eleanor B. (Woolley) Farnsworth.
Julie was a homemaker and had been a sales representative for WCBK Radio Station in Martinsville for several years. She was also a member of the Eastview Christian Church in Martinsville.
Survivors are her children, Jay M. Akins of Robinson, Illinois, and Janet L. Uhegbu-Patterson of Greenwood; grandchildren, T.J. Patterson, Amanda Uhegbu, Ashley Akins and Jay Akins, Jr.; great grandchild, Callie Patterson.
Also preceding her in death are her husband, Jerry W. Akins, whom she married on April 15, 1963 and he passed away on February 8, 2011; brother, Keith B. Farnsworth.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Costin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Visitation will be prior to the memorial service starting at 2:00 p.m.
